Podcast

It’s a new way of sharing information using web feed technology. Btw, here is a more formal definition of Podcast, from wikipedia. A podcast is a web feed of audio or video files placed on the Internet for anyone to download or subscribe.

And now as many people tend to use podcast, know there is a new term of using podcast which is podcasting. “Podcasting” is a portmanteau that combines the words “broadcasting” and “iPod.” The term can be misleading since neither podcasting nor listening to podcasts requires an iPod or any portable player, and no broadcasting is involved. There are many other terms related to podcast, such as podcasters and podcatchers, but I suggest you to search it your self :p.

I started to like podcast, and I have subscribed to several different channel of podcast, my favorite podcast that I subscribe is Happy Tree Friend, they are actually funny and creative. Some of you might accuse me of being Psycho, well for my defense, I actually admire their creativity of solving problem that they faced.

Okay, back to podcast, I forgot to mention how to subscribe to a channel. Here is a few simple step of subscribing to a podcast.
1. If you have iTunes installed in your computer, then go to step 3.
2. I suggest you download one here, don’t worry it’s free.
3. Click podcast tab in the left upper corner of your iTunes. This will lead you to apple music store.
4. There all you need to do is choose your favorite podcast and subscribe to it.
5. There is also several other links that give many podcast directories, such as Podcast.net, PodcastAlley.com, or Podcast Bunker.

Quiz.........

This is the first day after the term-break, but i almost forget that there will be a quiz today.

The quiz started in the 430, but suddenly has to be stopped because of the technical problem. It makes most of us more nervous, after that the class begin to discuss the slide, but i know that nobody actually paying attention, we were already too busy to think about the question that we have peeked.

after one hour and several minutes. the quiz has finished, and we discuss the quiz.
the answer seems to be easier after we discussed it together :p.

something that we need to remember is that we need to be familiar with the pattern of this quiz, as the exam won't be too different as quiz.

This week’s seminar is about the relationship between technology and user behavior. Well at least I think so….

The first fact that we discussed is cell phone. If we take a look back to the history ,there we will find that this technology was invented in the First World War as some kind of communication device (radio). And as the time goes by, users of cell phone gives feedback to the company that they need some other functionality of cell phone, and then the text messaging feature was added to cell phone. In this case we get the conclusion that user behavior disrupts technology.

Now let’s find sample for the other way around. I mean how technology can disrupt user behavior. And one good example is Napster. If you don’t know what Napster is, please check here for more details.

Hence by combining the user behavior and advance technology we can improve our industry. I mean by understanding the users behavior and keep our self up to date, we will have a great advantages in the industry.

Last point from the seminar is that Norms, industry standards, and laws and regulation are actually interacts to each others, as slight change in norms can affect our business a lot.

In this seminar we are asked to finish our flash video presentation by Thursday. That means 48 hours from now…. Wow, I think I’d better do it fast…. And I hope that I can implement these points that I get from the seminar.

Kama Sutra worm

Getting exited by the title, well you should be, as this worm set to bite internet this February. The virus, dubbed Nyxem.E among other names, was first reported on Jan. 16. It is thought to have infected more than half a million PCs.

Once active, this worm will try to delete all Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF , and may other popular file types from a compromised PC. The multifaceted malicious software will also attempt to propagate itself, both through e-mail and as a network worm, which can be particularly damaging on closed networks.

One thing that make it worse is that in the monday microsoft security advisory they say that they has decided against updating its Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool before the next regularly-scheduled release of Feb. 14 release.

So guys update your antivirus patches and make sure your hard disk has been scanned to detect and remove the worm.

FUN

Everyone may have different meaning of FUN, we can also get this feeling in many situation. And most of us will be happy if we get in to those kinds of situations. Some will have fun when watching comedy, when doing his hobby, when dating his girlfriend, playing game. But for now, I will try to explain the meaning of FUN to me, and I will explain it letter by letter.

The first letter is ‘F’. ‘F’ means family, whom I used to spend most of my time with. But not now, as I am here, studying at NTU and my family stay in Indonesia. They always give me a support. We do things together such as cleaning the house, cooking, go to work / school together as we only have one car, and many other things. For me they are the best family I have ever had, as I only have one of course :D…….

The second letter is ‘U’. There are so many U in my daily life. U as my lecturer who asked me to make this blog, U as my friends whom I playing games with, also U as the reader, I hope you like what I wrote. Cause without all of you my live will be so empty, and then it becomes not FUN anymore.

The third letter is ‘N’. N means to my hobby which is taking a nap. After the whole FUN day, my body need some rest, so it will be really nice to take a nap. Then prepare myself to another FUN day.
